Sociocratically run
SUMMIT MEETING
of representatives of NW political, environmental, and social change organizations toward
BUILDING CRITICAL MASS
for renewed democracy and work together on our shared goals
facilitated by John Buck and Friends Tuesday, June 30 7-10 PM
Many organizations share similar visions and missions. But few work together much, though their combined numbers would be huge and their power and efficacy could be amazing.
John Buck, the senior sociocracy facilitator in the English-speaking world, Jenny Heins of Sustainable Ballard and the team at Next Step Together will facilitate. We will build trust and connections, practice getting on the same page, and strengthen the foundation for larger, faster, kinder and more powerful coalitions.
Now there is a method of working together that enables us to transcend our histories, differences, and fears.
Sociocracy -- also known as Dynamic Governance -- enables large numbers to cooperate in the same way as and as well as the healthiest small group does! The methods work with any size group, but are as familiar as ways you come to consent with the people you trust the most. Sociocracy revolutionizes the way we develop ideas, implement solutions, and reach goals! Sociocracy:
- maintains the efficiencies of majority rule and top-down hierarchy
- fixes the problems of consensus decision making methods
- creates power equivalence for all -- workers/managers, minorities/majorities, followers/leaders, poor/rich
- makes the decision-making process fast, smooth and appealing
- fosters community and good-will
- develops new ideas and solutions easily
- produces powerful outcomes
